![]() ![]() Read more about the payment methods at the official Ryzom site.Ryzom seems to be determined to live despite the odds, but some MMOs aren’t that lucky. Ryzom is still free to download, and players may take part in a free trial period of three weeks. The monthly subscription will be £7.75 GBP, €7.95 EUR or $10.95 USD. In August, anyone with a valid account was allowed to play Ryzom free of charge and, later, account creation was reactivated but subscriptions were still suspended.Īfter almost nine months of free play, Ryzom will switch back to a subscription service, with the first payments beginning on 18 May. The game was given a new lease of life in June last year as it emerged new owners were working on the game. The game eventually passed to GameForge AG and all subscriptions were changed to ‘Free period’, however, Gameforge filed for bankruptcy in October 2007 and all servers were shut down in February 2008. Fans banded together to raise funds, forming the ‘Free Ryzom Campaign’. Ryzom was released in 2004, but after two years the developers, Nevrax, went into receivership. I'm sorry that i feel the need to be so harsh, but let's face it my words are felt by many, but only i have the nerve (as an american) to speak my mind openly. The complicated life of science-fantasy MMO, Ryzom, is about to take another twist as the current owners relaunch the billing system. I love ryzom, but the fact is that if they don't get on the page where the PAYING player's needs should be met, the game's doomed to die, because let's face it, when you take this long to give the customer a way to pay you for something, your sure as hell not going to make any money and it might cost you their business if you take too long to fix something. if paypal's slowing things down i think they'd get their act together when they start getting e-mails from all the users that want to play, they'll fix it faster. How about we get some facts as to what the hold up is, so we the players can complain to the source of the hold up on behalf of ryzom and WG. who ever thought a company would ever NOT want to make money? I know that would be my number one priority to get my cash flow back AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. not sure what the hold-up could be, but it sure does seam like bad business to not want people to pay you money for something. i've used paypal for 15 years, and it only took me about 30 minutes to set one up, and 2 days to verify. What boggles my mind is the amount of time it's taking to set up a paypal. We'll keep you informed of the progress of these two addtions and we thank you for your understanding.Įdited 3 times | Last edited by Tamarea (7 years ago) Important note: these new payment options aren't active yet, but we are doing everything we can in order for them to be active as soon as possible. Consequently, any payment option available on Steam will be valid: credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, JCB), PayPal, Visa Electron, PaySafeCard, Sofortüberweisung /, iDeal, WebMoney. Ryzom subscriptions through Steam will be done directly on the Steam platform and not via the Ryzom site. Moreover, the upcoming arrival of Ryzom on Steam will allow players to choose between other payment options. In order to overcome this major problem, the Development Team is working on updating Ryzom's payment system in order to add support for PayPal. Due to the closure of PaySpan, it is temporarily impossible to subscribe to Ryzom without a debit/credit card. ![]()
