Tl dr – feature length documentary covers the entire Scream original trilogy and is fast-paced and kind of silly better than Scream: The Inside Story, but still not great or anything. It’s not a must watch or anything, but if you want a Scream documentary, go with this one over The Inside Story. I mean, hey, it’s different and for someone who just set through the very cable TV Scream: The Inside Story, I was ready for something different. A special fourth disc features a behind-the-scenes documentary, screen tests, outtakes, and a special Cutting Room feature allowing viewers to edit scenes at home. I should also mention that this documentary starts with a very poor quality skit in which the killer calls a couple of girls and it’s genuinely just awful, but so awful that it’s ALMOST endearing. Still Screaming: The Ultimate Scary Movie Retrospective featuring David Arquette and Brian Avery is not currently available to stream, rent, or buy but you. All three SCREAM movies are included in special Collectors Editions, with SCREAM 2s Collectors Edition only available with this boxed set. This is better than Scream: The Inside Story because, by focusing on all three films, it requires an overall faster pace and it covers more ground. So this ninety minute documentary looks back at the original trilogy by talking to cast and crew members from all the films. Anyway, it seems that 2011 was a good time for retrospectives on the Scream franchise since, you know, the fourth movie was about to come out.
